Farewell, Red Quilt!

Saying goodbye to Dillan's red quilt today, *sniff*.  I hope he likes it (as much as a 2 and a half year old can!).
(Yes, it's upside down.  This is what happens when you ask your fella to take a photo of it for you when you're not there....he did however cut off any loose threads and put up a mirror for me in the bathroom whilst I'm at work so I can't complain, eh! :) )

Backing finished!

And here's the completed backing!

Dark side of the quilt...

Always feel a little sad with all the pressing of seams that they're never seen (but vitally important)...

Backing

You know when you measure your nice quilt top and then measure it and buy some material for the backing, which doesn't fit? So you buy another half metre... Which still doesn't fit. So you have to chop and adjust and chop some more, until you come up with something like this.....

Hurrah!

All finished now! It's for a single bed which is why it looks odd on my bed. The trickiest part? Making sure there wasn't too much white and red together. Woo hoo!

Final stages...

Just finishing those tricky corners!

Busy busy

Lack of posts due to lack of crafting - I've been meeting up with chums and decorating my previously hated bathroom (the only room that I hadn't decorated since moving in in November 2011 (apart from when upstairs leaked through my bathroom light and I had to replace the flooring...)). The tiles were horrible and old fashioned and the walls were beige and dark. The ceiling was grey with soot from burning too many candles when my heating didn't work...  Sigh. Never again.

More photos soon.....
